Here are some technical hints about installations of additional software solutions:

How to install Acronis Backup on Windows?
  • Activate your Acronis account - you will be get couple of download options.
  • You can download the installer directly to your computer at home or the office and transfer it to your server.
  • Connect via Remoted Desktop (RDP) to your server and access the Acronis Management Console at https://mc-heg-baas.acronis.com/bc/
  • Select Add on the upper right, and download the Windows installer to your server.
  • Once the download is complete simply run the installer and follow the instructions. Upon starting the installer, you will be asked to authenticate. You need to use the Acronis login credentials to register your server.
How to install Acronis Backup on Linux?
  • Activate your Acronis account - you will be get couple of download options.
  • You can download the installer directly to your computer at home or the office and transfer it to your server.
  • For easier installation, we're providing a bash script to simplify this process. Alternatively, you can follow the instructions below. This script works on Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS and Cloud Linux OS.
  • Download the attached script and transfer it to your server. Make it executable. Code: chmod +x installAcronis.sh run it Code: ./installAcronis.sh

Manual installation on Debian and Ubuntu

First, log on to your server via SSH.

Then download the installer package

Code:
wget http://dl.managed-protection.com/u/baas/4.0/12.0.3894/Backup_Agent_for_Linux_x86_64.bin

and make it executable.

Code:
chmod +x Backup_Agent_for_Linux_x86_64.bin

Make sure you run the following commands as root for Debian or use sudo in Ubuntu.

Before we can actually install it, we need to make sure all the dependencies are installed first. The Acronis installer requires RPM and others.

For Debian/Ubuntu as user root

Code:
apt-get -y install rpm gcc make curl wget linux-headers-$(uname -r)

For Ubuntu, as unprivileged “normal” user

Code:
sudo apt-get -y install rpm gcc make curl wget linux-headers-$(uname -r)

We are all set now to install the Acronis Backup Agent. Upon starting it you will need to provide your Acronis Account login credentials.

For Debian/Ubuntu as user root

Code:
./Backup_Agent_for_Linux_x86_64.bin

For Ubuntu, as unprivileged “normal” user

Code:
sudo ./Backup_Agent_for_Linux_x86_64.bin

Manual installation on CentOS / Cloud Linux OS

First, log on to your server via SSH as root or become root with su –

Then download the installer package

wget http://dl.managed-protection.com/u/baas/4.0/12.0.3894/Backup_Agent_for_Linux_x86_64.bin

and make it executable.

Code:
chmod +x Backup_Agent_for_Linux_x86_64.bin

yum -y install wget curl kernel-devel rpm gcc make

We are all set now to install the Acronis Backup Agent. Upon starting it you will need to provide your Acronis Account login credentials.
